Texas Wesleyan Tackles Weather Crisis

FORT WORTH, TX: A severe windstorm has hit Texas Wesleyan University carrying rams, frogs, sharks and dinosaurs. Damage has occurred to the West Library and other buildings across campus.

The tragic passing of beloved mascot Wilamae has hit the community as a result of the severe weather conditions. The university is working to assess damages and provide resources for the community. As the ramnado dissipates and heads toward the University of Texas at Arlington the natural disaster remains unpredictable. Texas Wesleyan is continuing to monitor the situation alongside the National Faux Weather Service.

“Our top priority as a university is ensuring the safety of our community. We are working to safely evacuate the campus and will be seeking assistance in providing necessary physical and mental health resources following the incident,” Senior Public Relations Director Eli Chambers said.

With the help of first responders, the city of Fort Worth and Tarrant County, Wesleyan is working to safely evacuate the campus. Plans are being made to provide alternative shelter as the situation continues to be assessed. In the instance that students on campus may be displaced, the university and city and looking to provide temporary housing.

Information about the memorial of Wilamae will be posted on Wesleyan’s website. The university wants to make it a priority to come back together stronger than ever and remind us of the true meaning of RAMILY.
