Chisara Ukpaka is an ambitious and driven Business Management major at Texas Wesleyan University, set to graduate in May 2025. As the President of the Entrepreneurship Club, she has honed her leadership and strategic thinking skills while fostering a dynamic community of aspiring entrepreneurs. Additionally, Chisara serves as the Student Representative on the Alumni Board of Directors, where she bridges the gap between current students and alumni, facilitating valuable connections and opportunities.
Currently, Chisara is the Lead Strategist on the PR team, where she crafts innovative communication strategies, that elevate the organization’s presence and engagement. Her ability to merge creativity with business acumen makes her a key asset in shaping the public image and outreach efforts. With a passion for building relationships and driving impactful results, Chisara is committed to using her skills to make a lasting impact at Texas Wesleyan University and beyond.

Sharria Hudson

Sharria Hudson is currently a senior majoring in Mass Communication at Texas Wesleyan University. Recognizing Public Relations as the area of communication in which she has the least experience, she has undertaken this role to enhance her proficiency in the field. Hudson has a passion for travel, values spending quality time with family and friends, and enjoys exploring new activities. Upon graduation, she plans to relocate to another state and advance her education by pursuing a Master of Business Administration.

Jared Brackens
I’m Jared Brackens, a junior at Texas Wesleyan University majoring in Mass Communications with a minor in Studio Arts. I’m a sprinter on the track team, Vice President of the Black Student Association, and a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). I’m passionate about bringing people together, whether through athletics, student leadership, or events that promote unity and support on campus.

Hi, I’m Alexis Bernal and I’m excited to bring my experience and skills to Texas Wesleyan as your PR social media manager. I’m originally from Minnesota but I have been in the career of media since the start of my news reporting with Fox News and most recently ESPN sports reporter. I have been so blessed winning a few Emmys along the way. But now I am excited to apply my skills into social media.
I am a down-to-earth goofy person which shines through in my personal life. I have a serious passion for fashion so catch me wearing all the latest trends. outside of reporting I’m also a Dj, and into photography, videography, and owning my own real estate business. I also love to travel so catch me flying high in business class.
I’m excited for what ahead and what the new chapter has in store for me.

Darren White Jr.
How’s it going, my name is Darren White Jr., I am a Junior at Texas Wesleyan University and pursuing my degree in Sports Communication, I also play football for TXWES. I have been playing football since I was 5 years old, and this past season, I was honored to be named Second Team All-Conference. My goal is if I am blessed enough is to keep playing football after college, but if that’s not in the cards, I plan to pursue my master’s and become a coach. Football has always been my passion, and I’m excited to see where the game takes me next.

Carla Salazar is an EGOT winner, is APR-certified, and is Texas Wesleyan’s most well-known alumna. She enjoys making people laugh, shopping, and exploring new places. When she’s not taking selfies, she’s busy amplifying the voices of those who need to be heard gracefully. She currently runs her own publishing and content firm, Pihbush Magazine. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communication at the top of her class, she returned to support Texas Wesleyan’s Faux Crisis PR team as their website publisher and backup spokesperson, reigniting her passion for sharing the stories closest to the hearts and minds of the Wesleyan community.

Angeles Alvarado
Social Media Specialist
Angeles Alvarado is a senior mass communication major at Texas Wesleyan University.
She hopes to use her degree from Texas Wesleyan and pursue a career in film and television.
Angeles has been featured in a few theatrical roles, having starred as Sylvia in Sylvia during her
senior year in high school. She also has experience in choreographing both in high school and
college, where she had the opportunity to set pieces on Arlington Heights High School’s
Repertory Dance Company, Tarrant County College’s Mosaic Dance Project, and Tarrant County
College’s Northwest Dance Company. She has done red carpet correspondence for both the
Emmy Awards and the Grammy Awards, and has been requested to host next year’s Oscars
Award Ceremony. Aside from her superstar roles, Angeles loves reading and playing with her
dogs. She is a huge fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and would love to study the downfall
of the MCU after the year 2021. Angeles is a long-suffering Dallas Cowboys fan and a die-hard
(no longer suffering) Texas Rangers fan.
